When I was a kid that meant new clothes, new books, notebooks, pens, pencils and crayons – all my favorite things. It was almost as good as Christmas. But it also meant a new class and finding my place in the social heirarchy. Thank goodness as adults we need no longer fear the mean girls of yesteryear.
In fact, most of us have learned that in life, as well as in business, team work breeds success far more than division does. With that in mind, it seems like a good month to celebrate unity, especially unity amongst women.
Our inspiring woman his month is Brenda Bazon, who has just started Moolahoop a crowdfunding business for women entrepreneurs.
It’s based on the principal that woman do business just a little differently than men and therefore need a different kind of support. If you’re a woman in business, or you’re thinking about starting a business, you don’t want to miss this one.
Since everybody likes to meet the new kids in school, we felt that September would also be a great month for you to get to know our inspiring writers a little bit better.
Instead of the usual articles on tips and wisdom, we asked them each 3 questions:
- What do you do to support other women?
- Why are you passionate about this course of action?
- How has helping others changed your life?
We are excited to hear their answers and learn more about what drives them to do what they do.
Welcome to the 2013-2014 class of Inspiring Women.
