It’s Thursday, October 30th, a day before Halloween. It’s crunch time.
As a family, we typically don’t go “all out” for this eventful day. But this year, we’re invited to festivities and trick-or-treating with some other families, so I’m feeling pressure to do my part.
I’ve been a bit busy lately. You see, I’m a SF Giants fan, and they just won the World Series! (Insert whooping and hollering here!) So for Game 6 & 7 I was on the couch starting at the TV, biting my nails, rooting for the Orange and Black.
That’s probably six hours or more of being “unproductive as a mom” in the last few days when I should have been preparing for October 31. But I’m a very happy “sports fan mom” right now so I’m going to count my blessings.
The biggest setback is that I don’t have a costume for Friday night. We don’t have pumpkins yet either, but don’t you worry. This mom is going to buy them today and we’ll carve them tonight.
I’ve been searching the interwebs far and wide (is there any other way to search the internet?) for costumes and I wanted to share my findings. Hope it helps!
To get into the Halloween spirit, I wanted to share some of my favorite YouTubers, Rhett and Link, who produced Dope Zebra. It’s the inspiration behind my 14-year old’s costume. When have you ever said “dope” and “zebra” in the same sentence?
Morton Salt – Kids (I was looking for me but this was so cute I had to add it!)
Ebola Nurse Costume – Suggested to me on FB.
Last Minute Costumes (Not sure I would guess Siri!)
Ceiling Fan – Go Ceiling Fans!
Fork In The Road – This may be the winner for me in 2014.
Big Bang Theory – One of my fav shows.
The 80’s – Bring back the Aquanet!
